We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer‑focused IT Technician to join our busy IT Department based at our Leicester office. This role combines technical support and customer service, supporting both on‑site and remote employees across the business. The IT team provides support to over 1,500 users across multiple locations throughout England and Scotland, and we are looking for someone with a proactive, can‑do attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and confident under pressure.
The successful candidate will act as a primary technical responder, handling day‑to‑day incidents and service requests while ensuring timely resolution or escalation where necessary. The role involves delivering 1st and 2nd line support across hardware, software, audio‑visual systems, and end users, providing both desk‑side and remote assistance. You will also work closely with the wider IT team to support issue resolution and contribute to service improvements, and assist with IT integration activities relating to newly acquired businesses. This is an office‑based role in Leicester, five days per week, with occasional travel to other sites as required. Full training will be provided through mentoring and guidance from senior members of the team, offering a strong opportunity for development within the IT function.
Key Responsibilities
* Log, prioritize and take ownership of IT Service Desk tickets through to resolution
* Set up new user accounts, profiles and Office 365 mailboxes
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues with PCs, laptops, mobiles, conference equipment, printers and other IT devices
* Configure mobile and tablet devices on MDM platforms. (Intune)
* Maintenance of our IT Asset Register
* Install and configure operating systems and applications
* Troubleshoots and fixes most incidents within SLA
* Identifies recurring problems and escalates them to the Senior Engineer
* Provide support to on‑site employees as needed
* Maintain accurate and detailed ticket documentation
Skills & Experience
* Broad knowledge of a wide range of Information Technology systems
* Basic network troubleshooting skills
* Configuring Microsoft Windows 11 operating systems
* Ability to troubleshoot & repair hardware and software issues
* Computer imaging
* Active Directory users and computers, Security groups, and Group Policy Objects
* Microsoft Office 365 suite of applications including Teams
* Microsoft Exchange and 0365 online administration
* Minimum of 3 years experience working in an IT environment
* 5x GCSE’s grade A‑C
* ITIL Certifications advantageous
* Microsoft Certifications advantageous
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
* Exceptional time management
* Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
