This is more than a safety role. It’s a leadership opportunity to shape how Hallmark protects its people, places and reputation.
We’re looking for a strategic, values-led leader to take ownership of Health, Safety, Environment, Compliance and Facilities across our UK sites. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders and lead key areas of responsibility to embed a culture of safety, sustainability and ethical practice that supports our brand and enables operational excellence.
If you’ve seen similar roles before, this one goes further. It’s broader, more senior, and comes with the autonomy to make a real impact.
What you’ll be doing

* Own all aspects of health & safety across our UK sites — from colleague wellbeing and training to COSHH, risk assessments, reporting and audits
* Own environmental management, supporting sustainability data and reporting and responsibility for site level reporting e.g. ESOS, SECR, M2030 for M&S
* Act as our senior point of accountability for audits, certifications, risk management and regulatory relationships
* Set clear priorities and direction across facilities, engineering and compliance, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery
* Influence senior leaders to embed a proactive safety and compliance culture
* Stay ahead of legislation and trends, ensuring Hallmark remains compliant and competitive
* Represent Hallmark externally with regulators, auditors and industry bodies
* Champion safe, inclusive working environments that support wellbeing and engagement
* Support training and communication to build a safety-first mindset across the business
* Act as escalation point for complex incidents, investigations and regulatory issues
What you’ll bring
* Chartered IOSH membership (or working towards) – essential
* Strong working knowledge of ISO standards (14001, 45001, FSC, SEDEX) – essential
* Experience in audit, compliance and ethical sourcing, corporate social responsibility and licensing compliance – essential
* Knowledge of European HSE legislation – desirable
Your experience
* Leading HSE and compliance across multi-site operations, including multiple discipled teams
* Managing audits, certifications and regulatory relationships
* Working in manufacturing, logistics or distribution (FMCG experience a bonus)
* Integrating HSE into business planning and change program
Your style
* Strategic thinker with strong senior influence
* Clear communicator and inspiring leader
* Analytical, proactive and collaborative
* Comfortable with ambiguity and driving change
Willing to travel (UK and potentially Europe)
