Offer description

House
Manager | Another Place - The Machrie | Hosts and House Managers

Wild coastlines, big skies and
a close-knit island community set the rhythm of daily life on Islay. The roll
of waves, breeze-blown dune grasses, and call of seabirds make up a rich
island soundtrack. It’s a haven for people who live and breathe the outdoors.
Exhilarating and revitalising, vibrant and relaxed - the wonder of the wilds
here is limitless.

Set within this captivating
landscape lies Another Place – The Machrie. Originating from the Gaelic term
‘machair’, meaning ‘the linking stretch of land that joins the grassy dunes
with the shoreline’, The Machrie offers elevated comforts and unforgettable
experiences.

Our House
Manager role:

We’re looking for a House
Manager to deliver memorable, meaningful, and elevated experiences for our
guests – from first impression to final goodbye.

You’ll embody the spirit of
Another Place with your friendly welcome, effortless charm, and seamless
efficiency, and oversee our Front Desk team, embodying the ease, enjoyment,
and mindfulness that shapes our guest experience.

Guests will remember you for
underpinning the happiness that shaped their stay, and locals will remember
you for your close attention to detail. You’ll thrive in your role, whilst
taking the next step up the ladder in your hospitality career.

As our House
Manager you’ll be:

* Enhancing our guest experience at
every opportunity, from initial contact to farewell.
* Proactively identifying and
resolving problems and staying one step ahead.
* Handling guest-related issues
promptly and smoothly.
* Addressing any complaints in a
timely and professional manner.
* Possessing in-depth knowledge of
the hotel, policies, systems, and procedures to promptly address guest
inquiries.
* Supporting and training host team
members to ensure their understanding of the hotel and their
responsibilities.
* Ensuring the host team remains
guest-focused, embodying the hotel's spirit and values.
* Maintaining the cleanliness and
tidiness of guest-facing areas and coordinating with maintenance and
housekeeping teams.
* Staying updated on allergy
procedures and serving as the main contact for related inquiries.
* Familiarising yourself with the
end-of-day (EOD) process and liaise with the Accounts team as needed.
* Handling bookings using the
appropriate systems across the resort.
* Conducting thorough booking
checks to ensure guests are well-informed and excited for their stay.
* Fulfilling any additional duties
assigned by senior management.
* Adhering to Health, Safety, and
Licensing laws.
* Acting as the initial point of
contact for required First Aid.
* Assuming the role of fire warden
during alarm activations.

With
43 beautifully designed rooms, a world-class Scottish championship links golf
course, a contemporary restaurant showcasing seasonal island produce
(recognised with a 4* Silver AA award and a Rosette), a wild
Scandinavian-inspired hot tub garden, and an art collection curated throughout
by Sue Nye, The Machrie encapsulates the best of both worlds; a feeling of
being looked-after, and the freedom to explore.
For
our guests, how their stay makes them feel is crucial; cared about, looked
after, welcome. It’s the heart and soul of our active relaxation concept, made
possible by the people on our team.

The skills you’ll be sharing with us:

* Previous management experience
within a similar role
* Experience of property management
systems

* A valid driving licence, and
relevant driving experience.
* Access
to your own transport (essential).

Life at Another Place – The Machrie

On
Islay, The Machrie embraces all-season island living. With long winters,

residences (where possible).

What we’ll offer you in return:

relaxed, professional place to work in a beautiful location – Islay ‘the
queen’ of the Hebridean archipelago off the West Coast of Scotland
* A
welcoming team of like minds, eager to support and encourage each other
* Accommodation
(as required, dependent on availability)
* Excellent
career prospects in an ever-expanding organisation
* An Islay Living Allowance provided for team members
residing off-site
* Use
of our Championship Links Golf Course (7,000 yards from the back
trees, rated one of the world's top 100), regardless of ability
* Special
rates for you and your friends & family to stay at Another Place –
The Machrie, Another Place – The Lake, SeaSpace, and Watergate Bay
Hotels
* Discounts
for you and your friends & family to eat at our variety of
