A qualified Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will plan and react to maintenance of complex mechanical control systems across the Trust estate. The role is based at Watford General Hospital with occasional travel to other sites. You must be able to travel to site for emergency on‑call within an hour.
Responsibilities
* Diagnose and repair faults on complex mechanical services, engineering plant and equipment.
* Carry out installation repairs and planned preventative maintenance on heating systems, compressors, motors, pumps, heat recovery, ventilation systems and controls.
* Carry out statutory inspections, testing and complete necessary documentation.
* Provide emergency recall, undertake on‑call duties and work overtime to attend emergency repairs.
* Work shift‑working and planned overtime as required.
Qualifications
* Recognised apprenticeship, City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering/Plumbing or BTEC (ONC) Engineering or equivalent.
* NVQ3 or above.
* Ability to travel on site within one hour of call‑out.
* Certificate of Sponsorship not available for this role.
