Spire Cheshire Hospital, Warrington are looking for a Chef/Cook to join our small and friendly catering team on a part-time and permanent basis.

Working hours: There are two shift patterns on this team - 6 am to 2 pm or 11 am to 7 pm which are allocated on a fair basis in addition to an early finish and enhancements paid for weekends and unsocial hours.

Contract type: Permanent, Part-time 30 hrs
Our catering team are responsible for providing exceptional food quality for our patients and staff based on our central corporate menu.
Reporting to the Head Chef, you will assist in the preparation, cooking and delivery of food and beverage service to patients, consultants and staff whilst providing a high quality professional service to the customers at all times.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. To assist the Head Chef as directed with preparation of food
2. Meal preparation including cooking of some food items which will be agreed between the Head Chef and the catering assistants
3. Presentation and service of food and beverages, to the specified standard, to staff, patients and consultants
4. To assist, when required, with the service of food to staff, consultants, visitors and patients in both the restaurant and wards
5. To maintain adequate control of all stock through stock rotation, date checking and ensuring packaging is intact in the kitchen
6. To comply with the health and safety procedures in accordance with current legislation
7. To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all tasks and duties
Who we’re looking for
8. You will need to have a relevant catering qualification or a willingness to gain one
9. Experience working as a chef/ Cook in any setting is a key requirement
10. Experience in corporate catering would be of benefit but not a necessity
11. A high level of social skills and a positive approach to customer care are essential elements of the job
12. A degree of human understanding is essential in order to meet the needs of individual patients who may have specific dietary needs or preferences
