Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Science Teacher for a long-term supply position at a secondary school in Sunderland, with a September 2026 start date.
The school is looking for a specialist who can deliver confident, well-structured Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, supporting students of all abilities and contributing to an established department. Whether your background is predominantly in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, you'll be expected to teach across the sciences with strong subject knowledge underpinning everything you do.
What you'll be doing:
* Planning and delivering Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
* Teaching across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in line with the national curriculum
* Assessing student progress and adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners
* Maintaining high standards of classroom management and student engagement
* Contributing to departmental planning and whole-school events
* Upholding the school's safeguarding responsibilities
To be considered:
* QTS or equivalent
* A degree in a relevant science discipline — Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
* Proven experience teaching Science at secondary level
* Strong subject knowledge across the sciences
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
Teaching Personnel offers:
* MPS/UPS salary — £32,916 to £51,048 depending on experience
