About the Role
Are you a qualified Primary Teacher seeking a rewarding role in an alternative provision or PRU (Pupil Referral Unit)? A well-established setting in Wolverhampton is looking for both full-time and part-time teachers to join from September 2025. This role is ideal for those passionate about supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, challenging behaviour, and SEND.
About the School
This inclusive and supportive alternative provision caters to primary pupils who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education. Many pupils have SEMH, ADHD, autism, or other additional needs. The school offers a structured, nurturing environment to help pupils re-engage with learning and develop positive relationships. The approach is trauma-informed, child-centred, and guided by the ethos of Support, Trust, Achieve, Respect (STAR).
Primary Teacher Responsibilities
* Teach small classes of primary pupils with SEMH and additional needs
* Deliver a flexible, creative curriculum tailored to individual EHCPs
* Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff
* Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour
* Build trusting relationships with pupils and families
Ideal Candidate
* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience in primary education, preferably in a PRU, SEMH school, or SEND setting
* Skilled in managing behaviour and de-escalation strategies
* Patient, empathetic, and committed to inclusive education
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
