Bouygues operates an MEP Unbundled strategy, reducing reliance on external suppliers to improve quality, safety, and project control. You will build and lead effective relationships with our MEP Consultants, BIM Coordinators and CDP Specialists to maximise value/opportunity and mitigate risk.</p><h3>Job Purpose</h3><p>To provide assistance to the Senior Technical Managers & Design Managers to help them deliver design & technical information on a bid or project; from prequalification to completion with emphasis on preconstruction (generally, but not limited to, the RIBA Plan of Work Stages 3 to 6/BSRIA BG6 Stages 3-7).</p><h3>Your Skills Profile should include a combination of the following:</h3><ul><li>Qualification degree level (or NVQ equivalent) in a construction related subject or relevant experience</li><li>Experience within the design / technical department of MEP Consultancy or Main / MEP Contractor</li><li>Design Process, Design Management, Procurement, Offsite Manufacturing, Preconstruction and Delivery in the construction industry</li><li>Experience in the current statutory requirements in respect of the construction industry e.g. Building Regulations and the Approved Documents, Building Safety Act</li><li>Principles of the RIBA Plan of Work/BSRIA BG6</li><li>CDM 2015 Regulations, and other Health and Safety and environmental legislation</li><li>Experience covering knowledge of MEP materials, systems, methods and technology</li><li>Design and Technical risk management</li><li>Building Performance, BIM & digital engineering</li></ul><h3>Main Accountabilities</h3><ul><li>Engage and develop relationships with our MEP Consultants and Designers</li><li>Input to MEP Consultant, BIM Coordinator and CDP Specialist Designer appointments</li><li>Monitor and manage the progress of our MEP Consultants, BIM Coordinators and CDP designers</li><li>Undertake technical reviews of designs produced by our MEP Consultants, BIM Coordinators and CDP designers, ensuring best value compliant designs are produced.</li><li>Validate / Technically approve significant plant and equipment selections or specialist CDP sub-contractor selection and designs</li><li>Identify and manage technical risks and opportunities</li><li>Drive a ‘Designing for Safety’ approach within our design teams</li><li>Ensure ‘Wellbeing and Environment’ is always considered within our designs</li><li>Develop value engineering and value management proposals and undertake the management and integration of these within our designs</li><li>Verify the site installation against the design</li><li>Provide troubleshooting support to significant technical and commissioning issues</li><li>Promote the BYUK policies and Key Values and function as a role model in demonstrating behaviours</li></ul><h3>Why Bouygues UK</h3><p>Day in day out our teams deliver some of the most technically innovative and challenging projects across the UK and the world.
