Re:work is exclusively partnering with Deliveroo to hire a Senior Manager, People Business Partner based in their London HQ.
Reporting to a VP, you'll focus on organisation design, talent and performance across Deliveroo’s EMEA commercial organisation and sit within the global DoorDash People organisation spanning 40+ countries.
Why Deliveroo
Deliveroo’s mission is to transform the way people shop and eat, bringing the best of the neighbourhood to people’s doors by connecting consumers, restaurants, shops and riders.
Now part of DoorDash, Deliveroo is helping build the leading global local commerce platform. Together, the organisation operates across more than 40 countries, combining local expertise with world-class technology, product and data capabilities.
Deliveroo remains a technology-driven business operating at the forefront of one of the fastest-evolving industries in the world. With global scale and ambition combined with local ownership, the company still operates with the pace, ownership and entrepreneurial spirit that built it. People are trusted to move quickly, take responsibility and deliver meaningful impact.
About the team
Deliveroo’s People team partners directly with leadership to raise talent density, strengthen decision-making and build organisations that scale. The team drives both strategic and operational People work and combines strong commercial thinking with disciplined execution.
They challenge where needed, simplify where possible and hold a high bar for performance, talent and organisational effectiveness.
Following Deliveroo’s integration into DoorDash, the People organisation now operates within a global structure with shared platforms, tools and ambition at the leading edge of people technology, analytics and talent practice. This combines global scale and investment with local ownership and impact across EMEA.
What you’ll be doing
Strategic partner to leadership: Partner with senior leaders across Deliveroo’s commercial organisation to define and deliver a focused people strategy aligned to commercial and go-to-market priorities. Use data and insight to diagnose organisational issues early, inform leadership decisions and measure the impact of people initiatives on performance and productivity.
Organisation design, talent density and leadership effectiveness: Lead organisation design and workforce planning to ensure structures, capabilities and decision rights enable ambitious growth. Raise the bar on performance and increase talent density through high-quality talent decisions, strong succession pipelines and stronger leadership teams.
Voice of the business: Act as the voice of your business area, translating priorities upstream to People platform owners and centres of excellence to shape the people products and service roadmap. Take these solutions to market in a compelling way, driving clarity, adoption and measurable outcomes.
Performance, change and ways of working: Embed a high-performance culture with clear standards, accountability and differentiation. Help leaders drive and communicate change in a fast-moving environment, rethinking how work gets done and enabling teams with AI and smarter ways of working to improve productivity and organisational effectiveness.
Employee relations and governance: Navigate complex employee relations matters with sound judgement and commercial awareness. Ensure strong governance and compliance while balancing risk with practical, business-focused solutions.
Reward and scalable people practices: Partner with Reward and Centres of Excellence to deliver competitive, performance-aligned outcomes. Drive disciplined adoption of core people processes, simplifying where possible and building scalable practices that enable growth.
Who we're looking for
* Experience partnering with sales, growth or other commercial organisations within technology-led or scaling businesses
* Extensive senior business partnering experience within international, matrixed, fast-paced and highly tech-enabled environments
* Demonstrated experience partnering with senior executives and influencing at leadership level
* Proven experience leading organisation design and change initiatives and evaluating their effectiveness
* Strong commercial judgement and financial fluency with a clear understanding of how the business creates value
* Extensive experience using and shaping people analytics to originate and guide initiatives and inform decisions
* Clear and confident communicator with the ability to influence without relying on authority
* High degree of comfort with modern productivity and collaboration technology such as Slack, Teams, Google Docs and AI tools
This role will suit someone who
* Thrives in a 0–1 environment where there is more to figure out than there are established processes
* Is comfortable operating as part of a global team and navigating when to leverage global people products and tools
* Is highly action oriented and able to switch quickly between strategic leadership discussions and hands-on delivery
* Is an analytical problem solver able to turn ambiguous challenges into clear plans and actions
* Gets energy from working at pace and taking an open, experimental and iterative approach
* Is already exploring how AI and automation tools will shape organisational design and ways of working
This role may not be the right fit if you
* Prefer predictability, stability and well-defined processes over change, reinvention and operating in ambiguity
* Don't consider yourself comfortable operating in a highly digital working environment where collaboration happens primarily across Slack, Google Docs and Zoom
* Are primarily seeking to manage a large team. While line management may exist in this role, it is unlikely to grow significantly in the near term and the focus will remain on driving the work directly
