Engineering Support Technician – Sterile Product Facility
Are you passionate about engineering and want to make a real difference supporting life-changing products? We're looking for an Engineering Support Technician to join our team and help ensure our sterile products are safely and efficiently produced for patients. You'll work on a shift rota of 4 days on and 4 days off, helping to keep our equipment running smoothly and improving processes wherever possible.
Role Summary
As part of the engineering team, you'll provide essential maintenance and support in highly controlled environments where sterile medicines are produced. Your role will include:
* Following engineering procedures and ensuring full compliance with good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and relevant UK laws.
* Handling size and component changes on key equipment like washing, filling, and sealing machines for vials and ampoules.
* Carrying out routine and scheduled maintenance on production lines to ensure everything operates efficiently and safely.
* Proactively managing equipment to prevent issues, reduce downtime, and improve machine setup and changeover times.
* Continuously looking for ways to improve processes, equipment performance, safety, and overall efficiency.
What We're Looking For
* A recognised engineering qualification, with multi-skilled training being a plus.
* Someone who can work independently or as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
* A good understanding of pharmaceutical engineering, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Experience working in controlled environments, especially Grade A, B, or C sterile areas.
* Knowledge and practical experience in reliability engineering, focusing on strategies to ensure machines are dependable.
* A person who takes ownership of their work, strives to maintain and improve equipment, and challenges existing processes to achieve better outcomes.
* A continuous improvement mindset, with hands-on experience in lean principles or other improvement initiatives that have delivered real results.
