Overview
MariaDB is the leading database for modern application development. We need a high‑energy, ambitious Marketing Content Strategist to architect our editorial engine and position MariaDB as the most visible, high‑value alternative to MySQL and PostgreSQL in the era of AI.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with corporate messaging to reposition MariaDB as a modern, higher‑value alternative.
* Own visibility in the new search landscape, optimizing content for Google and LLM rankings to ensure MariaDB is top recommended for architectural advice from AI.
* Build and own the global editorial calendar, ensuring a consistent, high‑quality rhythm of blogs and articles.
* Act as the primary editor and key writer, working with internal engineers and external freelancers to produce regular, high‑impact blogs and articles.
* Use AI writing and research tools to 10× output, serving as the internal expert on AI‑driven content scaling while maintaining brand voice.
* Establish a clear, transparent process for content production, giving the entire organization visibility into publishing schedules.
Position Requirements
* 3–5 years of professional writing or content marketing experience, preferably journalism, reporting, or professional blogging.
* Fast, versatile writer who can transform a 30‑minute interview into a provocative, SEO/LLM‑optimized blog post by end of day.
* Proficient with LLMs for brainstorming, outlining, and drafting; view AI as a productivity tool.
* Technical curiosity; willing to learn SQL and database market nuances, though not required to be a DBA.
Desired Skills & Experience
* Strong interpersonal skills for extracting compelling stakeholder stories.
* Organizational proficiency – comfortable with Kanban boards or spreadsheets to keep projects on track.
* Competitive drive to win the search wars against competitors.
