Overview

Join to apply for the Community Mental Health Nurse role at NHS Scotland. An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Mental Health practitioner / CPN to work within the East and Mid Ross Older Adult Community Mental Health team in the Highlands, which offer a wide range of outdoor activities for people and families. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with older adults and their carers experiencing both functional and organic mental health problems. You must have a UK NMC PIN and be registered as a Mental Health Nurse.


Responsibilities

* Carry out assessments, care planning / formulations and reviews and act as a care co-ordinator where appropriate for patients in the above area.
* Deliver recovery-based, person-centred care and autonomously manage workload safely and effectively.
* Demonstrate enhanced skills such as clinical risk assessment / management and positive risk taking.
* Provide input as Care Home Liaison to support staff with patients who present with stressed and distressed behaviours as a result of their illness.
* Provide a broad range of clinical therapeutic work; work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team; deliver safe, effective care to a diverse patient population.
* Work as an integral member of the team to ensure safe and effective clinical practice and enhance patient and carer experience of care.
* Access opportunities for further training (e.g., Non-Medical Prescribing) and receive clinical and managerial supervision from the Team Lead.


Qualifications

* UK NMC PIN and registration as a Mental Health Nurse.
* Experience with older adults and community mental health care.
* Desirable: training such as The Essentials in Psychological Care, CST; experience in care home liaison.
