This role is to on the Information and Analytics transformation across East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, as well as ensuring BAU activity is delivered against expectation. Key to this role will be supporting the Transformation across all departments, supporting better insights and analysis of our data and supporting the Informatics teams to thrive and improve. A good example of the work is the support to the Trusts strategic direction with insights into population health and productivity. builds on the NHS Long Term Plan.
Main duties of the job
The core principles for the Head of Information and Analytics role are:
● Reducing the burden on clinicians and staff, so they can focus on patient care and not search for information
● Ensuring clinical information can be safely accessed, wherever it is needed
● Improving patient safety across the Trust
·Improving data and information visibility so the value can be exploited with Trust operational areas
● Improving NHS productivity with digital technology
The post holder will ensure that the benefits of data driven analytics to drive decision making are realised within the organisation. This will be through ensuring we are supporting our workforce with the capabilities required to use data and digital technologies, as well as drive innovation in the use of data to identify opportunities to improve service delivery. This role will also play a key part in joining up the data understanding across the local health and social care economy to enable us to deliver outstanding care and treatment.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
As a core member of the senior management team, the post holder will work with the Chief Executive, Director of Corporate Affairs and Performance, Deputy Director of Performance and Programmes and other Executives/Deputy Directors and key partners to help deliver the long term data analytics of the Trust. In addition to technical ability, an engaging, innovative and collaborative approach will be crucial in making this role a success.
The post reports to the Chief Finance Officer and will be responsible for providing high level management and co-ordination at both strategic and operational levels. The post holder is accountable for leading and driving progress in identified areas of responsibility and within the parameters of established national and local priorities.
CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITIES
1Act as required as on behalf of the Chief Finance Officer and will carry a corporate responsibility for Trust’s performance reporting.
2To play a full and active role as a member of the Corporate Affairs management team.
3To drive the strategic development of the Trust’s services in accordance with local health needs, business development, education and research priorities.
4To be a role model for effective leadership in the Trust, driving a positive “can-do, patient first” culture and actively promoting kindness, respect, courage, participation in total team working and its contribution to delivering forward thinking healthcare services.
5To ensure that all activity and service objectives are effectively met in compliance with the Trust’s Standing Orders and SFIs, scheme of delegated authority and legislation.
6Along with other Managers, to ensure all Trust policies and procedures are adhered to and where necessary direct changes to support the operation of the Trust.
7To work with senior colleagues to proactively promote the Trust within the wider community, building sustainable relationships with key partners.
8To play a lead role in delivering the various Trust-wide improvement plans, with specific responsibility for digital transformation.
9To play a full and active role in the overall management of the Trust.
10To adhere to the standards laid down in the NHS Code of Conduct for managers and, at all times, act in a manner that reflects and promotes the values of the Trust.
11To represent the Trust at regional, national, and international level.

STRATEGIC AND OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

3.To prioritise the data demand against the allocation of available resources.
4.To enable the adoption and use of digital technology across our clinical and support services.
5.To establish the Trust as a leader in the field of digital health services for the benefit of our patients, carers and staff.
6.To work in partnership to integrate Information systems across the Trust to ensure the user experience is positive by maximising clinical activity and reducing bureaucracy for staff.
7.To ensure the effective delivery of secure, effective and efficient Information services.
8.To deliver first-class clinical care intelligence that is outcome based and able to drive quality improvement and measure productivity and effectiveness.
9.To drive forward system optimisation and integration to enhance user experience and improve productivity.
10.To enable technical leadership and support in the design and delivery of digital Information systems.
11.To enable the Trust to have a data-driven improvement culture where teams can use the most appropriate digital medias and data to accelerate best practice and adoption to create quality information. This will mean information drives decisions and we enable clinicians and teams to focus on outcomes.
12.To collaborate with other Digital and IT leaders across the health and care system to ensure relevant integration across the 6 STP including Population Health.
13.To ensure that the Trust is compliant with GDPR regulations and has robust compliant IG/data security strategies to mitigate Cyber Security Risks.

Essential criteria
1. Experience of the Ambulance Analytics
2. Use of CAD systems
3. Power BI Technology
4. Experience in development of Lake architecture in partnership
5. Previous leadership role in an informatics or similar data team
6. Understanding of EEAST strategic direction and history
7. Gives a clear direction for informatics team at EEAST
8. Detailed understanding of Cleric and its capabilities and inabilities
