Job Details Working in the busy but very supportive specialist Community Occupational Therapy Team, based at Kirkcaldy Town House, working with adults of all ages with a wide range of different functional needs and their carers. The post is part time permanent, working 20 hrs per week, Monday to Wednesday (work pattern to be agreed). The post will be based in the Community OT service in Kirkcaldy covering Kirkcaldy and a number of the surrounding towns. You will be required to carry your own caseload, working both autonomously (with supervision and support) and as part of the Kirkcaldy Community OT team. You will be required to undertake assessments using clinical reasoning to make reliable professional judgements with a high level of autonomy, to identify appropriate solutions to meet service user’s personal outcomes. Providing outcome focussed intervention that has a positive impact on occupational performance. You will also provide professional supervision and support for OT Assistants. The Person You will have a sound working knowledge, preferably with experience of working with people with service users in a community setting, with a good working knowledge and understanding of how a person’s home environment, as well as their physical and cognitive abilities can impact upon an individual’s functional ability, independence and quality of life. You will be required to provide mentoring and support to Occupational Therapy Assistants to promote and support the development of their knowledge, skills and effective practice to effect positive impact on the occupational performance of service users/patients. Applicants will be required to have a recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy at a minimum of SCQF level 9, as well as significant experience in postural management assessment and interventions. Applicants must also be registered with Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). Ability to travel within Fife is essential. Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
