Health & Safety Manager Location: Chichester Salary: £65,000 £70,000 Package Projects: Major construction schemes ranging from £50m £150m An established main contractor delivering landmark developments across the Chichester area is seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join their team. With a strong pipeline of major works in the region, this is a key appointment to drive best-in-class safety standards across multiple high-value schemes. Key Responsibilities: Ensure all construction sites operate in a safe, compliant, and legally sound manner at all times. Implement and uphold the companys health & safety policies to reduce incidents, promote wellbeing, and minimise risk. Remain up to date with all statutory regulations and industry guidance impacting site operations. Conduct regular, recorded health & safety inspections, reporting back to senior leadership and site teams. Track and ensure timely close-out of actions raised during audits or inspections. Lead or support accident investigations, producing accurate reports and action plans. Confirm that all operatives and subcontractors receive comprehensive site-specific inductions. Check that all projects maintain suitable welfare provisions and are properly set up. Display all statutory safety notices on site noticeboards. Review and approve method statements and risk assessments to ensure suitability. Oversee COSHH compliance and ensure secure, environmentally safe storage of materials. Issue and monitor permits to work, ensuring accuracy and fitness for purpose. Address instances of non-compliance, supporting managers to take corrective action where necessary. Undertake additional safety-related responsibilities as requested by senior leadership. Requirements: NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent (minimum). Demonstrable experience in health & safety within a construction contracting environment. In-depth understanding of UK H&S legislation and CDM Regulations. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Experience managing health & safety on major building projects (£50m). Whats on Offer: Salary of £65,000 £70,000 depending on experience.
