Job Title: Manufacturing Technology EngineerLocation: Barrow-in-Furness. Full time on siteSalary: Circa £45,000 depending on experienceWhat you’ll be doing:Support and deliver Manufacturing Technology projects throughout their full lifecycle including performing initial research and market scans, proof of concepts, pilots and full implementation projectsWork collectively in a team, developing and implementing projects to improve the Submarines programme.Liaise with and manage internal and external stakeholders such as inter-business teams, BAE sectors including Group and suppliersApply problem solving techniques to progress technology solutions to improve Manufacturing & Construction processesProduce and review Manufacturing Technology documents to support the projects through their lifecycle and ensure they are stored appropriatelyDevelop and support business justifications to implement new and replacement technologies into Manufacturing Production areas and develop the Cost Benefit from doing soDevelop and support technology road mapsYour skills and experiences:EssentialLevel 4 Qualification in a related subject or equivalent experienceWelding and/or Fabrication experience and knowledge in heavy industryExperience in process improvementsExperience engaging with cross functional teams & external stakeholdersKnowledge of Technology Readiness Level (TRL)DesirableExperience of developing business cases or justificationsKnowledge of the Catapult networkExperience of Research & Development activitiesBenefitsAs well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.The Manufacturing Technology teamSubmarines Manufacturing Technology is dedicated to advancing and integrating cutting-edge technologies that enhance manufacturing and construction processes across all submarine programs.
