Join our dedicated team at Newton Park as a facilities assistant. This varied and hands-on role is essential to supporting Bath Spa University's sustainability goals and day-to-day campus operations.
About the Role
You'll play a key part in helping the university meet and maintain ISO14001 accreditation, with a particular focus on waste management and responsible recycling. From collecting and managing recyclables to supporting the disposal of furniture and helping promote green initiatives to staff, students and visitors, your work will make a tangible impact.
The role also includes a range of practical tasks to keep our campuses running smoothly—assisting with room setups and university events, delivering mail and supplies, carrying out light maintenance, and ensuring spaces remain clean and safe. It's a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and wants to contribute to a creative and environmentally conscious university community.
About You
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
* Experience in using non-powered tools to carry out minor household repairs.
* Customer service experience.
* Ability to assess the Health and Safety implications of any task required and ensure all jobs are done safely and in accordance with HSE guidelines. Full clean driving licence.
* Willingness to learn new skills and work processes.
* Knowledge of cleaning products.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety, in particular COSHH.

Additional Information
Salary Grade 3 - Starting from £25,949 rising to £26,093 per annum
The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Additional Information
* This post will involve physical work including considerable amounts of bending, stretching and lifting.
* The post holder must hold a current manual driving licence.
* Working hours will fall between 6.00 am and 6.00 pm, and may be subject to change due to business needs. The working week will be 5 days a week with weekend work required subject to business needs.
