The Strength and Conditioning Intern will support the physical development programme of the Senior Academy squad. This role is designed to provide practical, applied experience within an elite rugby environment, working alongside full-time performance staff to deliver high-quality physical preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
●Assist in the delivery of gym-based strength and conditioning sessions
●Support the planning and implementation of individual athlete programmes
●Set up, monitor, and maintain training equipment and facilities
●Collect and record performance data (GPS, strength scores, testing metrics)
●Assist with warm-ups, speed and conditioning sessions on-field
●Provide general administrative support to the performance department
●Ensure a safe and professional training environment at all times
Learning Opportunities:

Person Specification:
Essential:
●Currently studying or recently completed a degree in Sport Science, Strength and Conditioning, or a related field
●Ability to coach fundamental movement patterns in the gym and on-field
●Strong interest in rugby union and athlete development
●Excellent work ethic and willingness to learn
●Effective communication and interpersonal skills
●Reliable, professional, and able to commit to regular weekly attendance.
Desirable:
●Relevant strength and conditioning accreditation (or working towards)
●Previous coaching or S&C placement experience
●First Aid qualification
●Knowledge of GPS and athlete monitoring systems
●Internship duration: 1 Season - 46 weeks
●Start date: 29th June 2026
●Hours: 15-20 hrs / week
