MCR Operations Engineer - 12 months FTC
To provide technical support to internal and external customers to improve service performance and protect network availability.
Location - Crawley Court, Winchester.

Accountabilities:
9. Use monitoring and control systems to control, configure and operate equipment, systems, networks and platforms, directly and remotely
10. Provide network monitoring and event management through the Operation Support Systems (OSS) in line with Service Level Agreements and network availability figures
11. Take corrective action and ensure incidents are directed to the correct resolver group to secure rapid resolution
12. Enter accurate incident reports/logs and service details/schedules into the system and track reported incidents to satisfactory resolution
13. Drive the resolution of service affecting events, creating incidents, applying technical and engineering knowledge and escalating to appropriate resolver groups where necessary
14. Communicate maintenance schedules of Arqiva’s in life products and services to internal and external stakeholders.
15. Operation of Customers services as part of the team of MCR Operations Engineers.
16. Assisting in operation of managed services to Service Level Agreement.
17. Responsible for the reporting of equipment and system problems, and for drafting incident reports.
18. Control, configuration and operation of equipment directly and remotely using monitoring and control systems.
19. Reporting service details to customers

21. Monitoring of services carried by Arqiva
22. Switching feeds
23. Specific services responsibilities as requested
24. Instigation of call out and fault escalation procedures
25. Occasional Maintenance and project work
26. Contribution to the information systems in the MCR
27. Carry out any tasks commensurate with your post as directed by the Team Leader
28. Required to work as part of a 24-hour operational team including regular weekend and night working.
29. Irregular working hours as dictated by the needs of the business.
30. Travel to other Arqiva facilities or to customer premises.
Experience/Expertise:
31. Must be familiar with broadcast system standards and waveform measurements, ., SDI, AES/EBU, MPEG/ASI, HD, Dolby etc.
32. Should have knowledge of satellite RF systems, and associated technologies, such as DVB-S/S2.
33. Good telephone manner essential
34. Must have good interpersonal skills when dealing with customers and third parties.
35. Able to work under pressure in a dynamic environment as part of a small group.
36. Ability to prepare clear and concise fault reports
37. Must have clear understanding of relationships throughout the satellite industry between Arqiva, satellite operators and customers.
38. TCP/IP knowledge desirable
39. Service & Incident management methods knowledge (INFRA)
40. Experience of automated monitoring solutions (SMTP, Closed Contact, Applications and principles).
41. Exceptional organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
42. Good IT skills.
