Private Sector Housing Officer - HMO Licensing & Enforcement?? London (Hybrid: 2-3 days WFH)?? £40-£45 per hour (Umbrella)?? 6-Month Contract (Likely to Extend)
We’re working with a London borough looking for an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract.
This role focuses on HMO licensing, enforcement activity, and HHSRS inspections. You'll be responsible for conducting site visits, carrying out risk assessments under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), and taking enforcement action where necessary—including the service of notices and issuing Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs).
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out inspections of private sector properties, including HMOs
* Assess properties using the HHSRS
* Investigate complaints and take enforcement action where appropriate
* Process HMO licence applications and ensure compliance
* Issue legal notices and FPNs in line with housing legislation
* Prepare evidence and attend tribunals or court proceedings if required
