Overview We are the Defence Mental Health Services (DMHS) and we are searching for a professional, motivated Psychiatrist to join our encouraging and friendly team at RAF Brize Norton Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC). DPHC is an inclusive and dedicated organisation working hard to provide excellent care to our entitled personnel. This is a Fixed Term Appointment until April 2028, full time position, offering 40 hours per week. Part time hours may be available on a job share basis to meet business demands.
Responsibilities
Provide effective care based on recovery and rehabilitation to Service Personnel and entitled civilians.
Deliver timely assessment, treatment and occupational recommendations that meet the needs of the individual and the Chain of Command.
Handle roughly 10 new referrals a week, seeing urgent cases by the next working day and routine cases within 15 working days.
Maintain a compact caseload of the most complex and unstable cases, with availability at short notice to provide consultation and advice to other team members.
Operate within a caseload that contains far lower levels of morbidity and risk than a National Health Service general adult population, with a low emergency burden.
