About the Role
Level D (Associate Professor) – $185K - $204K + 17% superannuation and annual leave loading
Level E (Professor) – $237K + 17% superannuation and annual leave loading
Full‑time (35 hours per week)
The role reports to the Head of School and has no direct reports.
Responsibilities
* Apply a well‑defined teaching philosophy and critically reflective practice to inspire student learning in neuropsychology.
* Lead the review, development and ongoing delivery of the Masters Clinical Neuropsychology (MCN) program and neuropsychology teaching within the Masters Clinical Psychology program.
* Act as Program and Course authority for MCN, ensuring academic quality assurance.
* Engage in peer review and disseminate best practice in education.
* Conduct classes, assess student learning achievements, and support postgraduate and undergraduate students.
* Design and develop learning activities, resources, assessment and feedback at course and program level.
* Contribute to learning progression strategies that promote student success.
* Collaborate to attract internal and external education funding.
* Lead and participate in School, Faculty and University committees and meetings.
* Provide administrative leadership, coordinate courses, meetings, open days and recruitment activities.
* Engage with national dialogues in teaching and learning, and develop partnerships.
* Interact with professional, academic and international organisations related to the School and Faculty.
* Conduct original research in clinical neuropsychology, contributing nationally and internationally.
* Build a distinguished research program and research groups within clinical neuropsychology.
* Lead grant applications and secure research income, achieving peer recognition at national level.
* Mentor students, HDRs, post‑doctoral fellows and colleagues.
* Recruit and supervise HDRs to timely completion.
* Conduct knowledge exchange activities and contribute to commercialisation of research outcomes.
* Participate in major research collaborations.
* Adhere to the Code of Conduct, university values, and health and safety policies.
Additional Responsibilities for Level E
* Deliver internationally significant research and secure competitive government and industry funding.
* Maintain a distinguished research program with active research groups.
* Lead community affairs in professional, commercial and industrial sectors.
* Achieve strong international peer recognition and lead research networks.
* Mentor early‑career academics and support their grant funding efforts.
* Lead knowledge exchange and research end‑user engagement to generate income.
* Lead commercialisation of research outcomes and major research collaborations.
Qualifications and Experience – Level D
* PhD in a discipline related to Clinical Neuropsychology and relevant work experience.
* Eligibility for endorsement as a clinical neuropsychologist by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Committed to keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
* Experience in teaching and learning design across undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
* Experience with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
* Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
* Experience with industry or work‑integrated learning.
* Proven ability to build inclusive culture of excellence in learning and teaching.
* Experience initiating curriculum development and improvement.
* Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Ability to support equitable, diverse students and initiatives.
* Track record in research leadership with high‑quality, internationally impactful outcomes.
* Excellent record of recruiting and supervising high‑calibre students.
* Leadership in building engagement and partnerships with the profession and industry.
* Understanding of UNSW’s aims, objectives, values, policies and guidelines.
* Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to training.
