Control System Engineer (Ignition) - 6 months+ - Remote
We are looking for an Ignition Specialist to support a global customer focused on delivering advanced control system solutions for mission-critical projects. This role leads technical deliverables across design, integration, and commissioning phases, while supporting system architecture decisions, improving engineering standards, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop PLC, SCADA, BMS, and EPMS systems
* Produce and review control system architecture, software designs, and documentation
* Deliver engineering work across multiple projects within scope and deadlines
* Support system integration, testing (FAT/SAT), and commissioning activities
* Troubleshoot, validate, and optimize system performance
* Interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control narratives
* Identify and resolve technical issues and risks
* Contribute to value engineering and continuous improvement initiatives
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams and act as a technical interface between stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and company standards
Skills & Experience
* Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
* 5+ years in controls engineering, automation, or system integration
* Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, BMS, and EPMS platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Ignition)
* Experience in control system design, development, and integration
* Familiarity with FAT, SAT, and commissioning processes
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
* Effective communication and collaboration skills
* High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety
