Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic Care Navigator (receptionist) for our busy practice. Your role will involve speaking with patients face‑to‑face and on the telephone, dealing with their queries, making appointments, liaising with other team members and community services, registering new patients, and performing various administrative duties.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing a warm, professional welcome to all patients who contact the practice in person or by telephone.
* Managing front‑desk activities and supporting smooth operation of the clinic.
* Handling appointment scheduling and patient registration accurately and efficiently.
* Maintaining high standards of courtesy, fairness and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications
* GCSE grade A‑C in English and Maths.
* NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care (desirable).
* Good communication skills and a high standard of customer care.
* Ability to work well in a team and independently.
* Preferred experience working in a GP practice; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
Working Hours
The surgery is open from 08:00–18:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00–20:00 Friday. Candidates are expected to be flexible, but the post holder will not be required to work beyond their contracted hours per week.
Practice Background
We are a busy and progressive GP practice operating across two sites – Dashwood Medical Centre and Northdown Surgery – which have recently merged to work as one unified team. We provide high‑quality primary care services to a combined patient population of approximately 25,000.
