Job Summary
OPPORTUNITY TO PURSUE A LONG TERM CAREER AS AN OPTICAL DISPENSER. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic optical dispenser to work alongside our professional team. Harries Opticians is an independent practice providing a high level of customer service and quality optical products. Duties
* Assist customers in selecting suitable frames and lenses based on prescriptions and personal preferences.
* Take precise measurements for lens fitting, including pupillary distance and frame size.
* Ensure accurate dispensing of spectacles, verifying correct prescription and fit.
* Provide guidance on lens options, coatings, and frame styles to meet individual needs.
* Conduct basic adjustments and repairs to eyewear for optimal comfort and durability.
* Maintain detailed records of customer prescriptions, fittings, and transactions.
* Support laboratory processes by preparing lenses for fitting when necessary.
* Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the dispensary area.
Skills & Qualifications
* Previous optical experience or related field (highly desirable).
* Strong desire to exceed patient expectations and a passion for optical retailing.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills for dealing directly with the public, over the phone and face‑to‑face.
* Self‑motivated, enthusiastic with determination to succeed.
* Professional with a strong customer service focus and meticulous attention to detail for accurate measurements and dispensing.
* Team player.
* Optical laboratory experience (preferred).
* Basic anatomy knowledge of the eye.
* Bachelor’s degree.

Pay & Employment Type
Permanent, Full‑time. Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 per year.
Work Location & Commute
Stockport SK7 – in person. Relocation is preferred; reliable commute is required.
Experience
Optical: 2 years (preferred).
