We are a well-established, family-run eCommerce business in the hardware industry, supplying products to both trade and retail customers across the UK. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Stock Assistant to join our team. This is a part-time role with the potential for additional hours in the future.
About the Role
You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of our warehouse, focusing on picking, packing, dispatching customer orders, and managing stock levels. You must hold a valid clean UK driving licence, as this role involves delivering orders to local dispatch locations. Applicants over 25 may drive company vehicles; applicants under 25 must be willing to use their own vehicle (mileage allowance provided).
The role suits someone who is physically active, organised, has neat and legible handwriting, and can work efficiently both on their own and as part of a team. Full training will be provided.
Hours
15–20 hours per week (Tuesday and Thursday, with additional hours flexible).
Flexible working hours can be agreed between 9am and 5pm to support parental, caring, or personal responsibilities.
Potential for additional or full-time hours in the future.
Location
This role is office/warehouse-based in Prestwick, Ayrshire.
Key Responsibilities
Picking and packing customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Preparing parcels for courier collection, including completing postage manifests and other documentation.
Delivering packed orders to local dispatch/drop-off locations.
Receiving, unpacking, and sorting incoming stock deliveries.
Managing stock levels, including restocking shelves, updating inventory records, and assisting with stock rotation.
Conducting basic inventory checks and reporting discrepancies.
Keeping the warehouse, packing area, and storage spaces tidy and organised.
Supporting other team members with general duties when required.
Minimum Requirements
Good level of physical fitness, with the ability to lift and move parcels safely.
Punctual, trustworthy, and able to follow instructions carefully.
Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence with no driving convictions. Due to company vehicle insurance restrictions, drivers must be aged 25 or over to use company vehicles. Applicants under 25 may still apply but must be willing to use their own vehicle with mileage allowance (conditions apply).
We are looking for someone who is hardworking, reliable, and a good team player. A positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and excellent timekeeping are essential.
