Job Summary:
The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs over 12,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. Ours is a diverse workforce, with roles ranging from trainers, human resources, teachers, and psychologists to storekeepers, financiers, project and programme managers, and policy secretariat staff. There are many different functions and professions delivering key outputs for the Army.

The Land Warfare Centre (LWC) is responsible for the delivery of military trade and collective training (UK and overseas) focused on ensuring our military personnel are appropriately prepared to meet their operational commitments in response to the needs of the Field Army. To achieve this there are eight Operational Groups under the command of the Director Land Warfare (DLW). The training schools achieve their objectives through a combination of MoD trainers (military and civilian) and Industry partners under contract.

The Land Warfare Centre (LWC) Business Centre is responsible for ensuring that a holistic approach is taken to LWC's business through the strategic oversight, governance, effective delivery and performance management of LWC's portfolio of programmes, projects and business outputs. The Business Centre supports the LWC Headquarters and respective training schools in ensuring that military training is delivered to best effect.

This position is for 37 hours per week, requests to work flexibly will be considered, considering the business needs. Several work packages are on offer and can be discussed if successful.

Please note: This role is primarily based at either Trenchard Lines, SN9 6BE in Upavon or Land Warfare Centre, BA12 0DJ in Warminster but regular attendance at the other site will be required.

Job Description:
This position supports the Business Intelligence function providing training data analysis to ensure appropriate resource allocation to support the delivery of Army and Defence training.

Key responsibilities of an Exploitation & Efficiencies Manager:
* Development (DLOD) to identify inefficiencies and provide underpinning evidence to business decisions.
* BIT lead on the Forecast of Training (FOT) process.
* Manage the maintenance and development of the Forecast of Training Information System (FOTIS) and Request for Change (RFC) applications and supporting PowerBI tools.
* Promote the need for all training stakeholders to comply with training data input and maintenance policies.
* Support training stakeholders with interpretation of training data.
* Liaise with Army Initial Training Command (AITC) Recruitment and Training Information Cell (RTIC) on TAFMIS data discrepancies to resolve issues.
* Provide training data/ensure data is available to support course costings and performance reporting.
* Assist Analysts to interpret and analyse data.
* Oversee the use of resource costing information for financial scrutiny on FOT RFCs (excl. Contract Driver Training).

Note: The Exploitation and Efficiency team is a 'shared service' providing support to the Land Warfare Centre and Army Initial Training Command (AITC) in accordance with a Defence Command Level Agreement.

Essential skills required:
* You must be able to demonstrate data analysis / performance management experience.
* Have analytical skills to evaluate information and data to inform decisions based on best available evidence to support improvements.
* Be computer literate and able to confidently use O365 applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
* Be able to work with stakeholders from across the organisation.
* Exercise sound judgement and demonstrate application of innovative thought.
