Event Steward - Fareham Community Showcase - Saturday 5th July 2025
Event Overview
The Fareham Community Showcase is an event that celebrates the charitable and not-for-profit sector in the Borough. It provides an opportunity for local groups to meet the public and raise awareness of their services.
We anticipate that over 60 stall holders will take part in the event which will take place along the pedestrianised area of West Street. A full programme of live music is also planned at the Podium in West Street.

Event Stewards
* Continually monitor the movement of stall-holder vehicles accessing the pedestrianised area of West Street for unloading/loading and ensure safe exiting from the site
* Ensuring the safe unloading of vehicles
* Ask traffic to stop while drivers unload and ask people to be patient
* Setting up tables and chairs for craft stalls
* Checking Public Liability insurance documents for all stall-holders
* Issuing numbers on each stall-holder table
* Setting up A-frames along West Street (pedestrianised area only) with stall holder numbers and entertainment programme
* Standing with exhibitors’ belongings if they are alone when removing their car
* Helping exhibitors with erecting gazebos if necessary
Availability
Either morning (7.45 am – 12pm), afternoon (12.00-4.30 pm) or all day, but we are flexible if you can only help for a couple of hours.
Skills
Good communication skills: The ability to confidently engage with members of the public.
Friendly and approachable: Being welcoming and personable to encourage positive interactions at events.
Teamwork: Willingness to collaborate with other volunteers and staff to ensure the smooth running of events.
