Project Manager
Location: Plymouth
Salary: £75,000 – £80,000 + Package
Employment: Permanent | Full-Time
We are working with a well-established regeneration contractor to recruit an experienced Project Manager to lead a multi-phase timber-frame housing development in Plymouth. This is a key role overseeing delivery, client liaison and day-to-day project performance, supported by a strong site team already in place.
The Role: As Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing both phases of the scheme, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme and to client expectations. You will work closely with the local authority, taking the lead on communication, progress updates and managing all client-facing responsibilities. Internally, you will manage and coordinate the site team, including the Site Manager and Assistant Site Managers, ensuring smooth workflow and effective planning.
This role requires someone with a main contracting background, confident working in a busy client-led environment, and comfortable managing detailed planning and programme requirements. Experience with Asta Powerproject is highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the delivery
* Act as the primary point of contact for the local authority client
* Attend and lead progress meetings, providing clear updates and managing expectations
* Oversee programme management and planning activities, using ASTA
* Support and manage the site team, including Site Managers & Assistant Site Manager.
* Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety, and contractual requirements
* Liaise with supply chain partners to coordinate packages and resolve issues
* Monitor project performance, risks and progress, implementing corrective actions where required
* Drive high standards of communication, documentation and client satisfaction
About You
* Proven experience as a Project Manager, ideally with a main contractor
* Strong client-facing experience, ideally with public sector or local authority clients
* Good knowledge of timber-frame or housing projects (not essential but beneficial)
* Confident with programming and planning tools (Asta preferred)
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
* Able to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain control in a busy environment
