Post Title: Assistant Swimming Teacher (Unqualified)

York Swimming Academy Ltd. is looking for passionate, enthusiastic and customer focused individuals to train as Learn to Swim Helpers / Assistant Swimming Teachers. Successful individuals will be responsible for:
* Assisting the Lead Swimming Teacher to teach and coach people of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water;
* Assisting the Lead Swimming Teacher to deliver sessions in a professional manner and undertake administrative tasks associated with the role (i.e. lesson plans, class registers, monitoring and evaluation).
Qualifications & Experience
The successful applicants will be friendly, naturally helpful and enjoy interacting with young children. Introductory training will be provided prior to undertaking Assisting duties and following a successful probationary period, applicants may be eligible for further formal training towards becoming a fully qualified Swimming Teacher.
Hours of Work
This is a Casual Contract, with successful applicants joining a rota to cover regular teaching shifts. Available shifts include:
Archbishop Holgate's School:
* Mondays (16:00-17:30)
* Tuesdays (18:15-19:15)
* Wednesdays (16:00-17:30)
* Thursdays (18:15-19:15)
* Fridays (17:45-18:45)
Carr Junior School:
* Wednesdays (16:30-18:00
* Sundays (09:30-11:30)
New Earswick Swimming Pool:
* Thursdays (16:00-17:30)
* Fridays (15:30-16:30 or 16:00-16:30)
* Saturdays (15:00-17:00)
* Sundays (10:00-11:30 & 15:00-17:00)
Stamford Bridge Community Pool:
* Sundays (09:00-10:30)
Interviews & Selection:
Successful applicants will be invited to attend an essential training workshop on Saturday 1st April 2026. This will take place at New Earswick Swimming Pool from 10:30-17:30. When applying, please ensure that you will be available to attend this date.
