Nurse Consultant (Cardiology) (Ref: 247016)
Role Summary
We are seeking a motivated, highly experienced cardiology nurse to lead, influence and deliver cardiac services across NHS Shetland. The post is based in secondary care outreaching to primary care.
Compensation & Benefits
* Band 8A – Salary Range £65,125 – £70,303 per annum
* Distant Island Allowance of £2,578 per annum
* Relocation Assistance of up to £8,000 available
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the cardiac nursing team and ensure safe, evidence‑based, person‑centred cardiac care is delivered.
* Deliver heart failure nurse‑led clinics and cardiac rehabilitation services.
* Support the cardioversion service.
* Work autonomously and collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team across all settings.
* Develop and expand skills to an advanced level with full support from the Consultant Cardiologist (Locum) and Chief Nurse for Acute and Specialist Services.
Qualifications & Skills
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and teaching skills.
* Extensive experience as a cardiology nurse.
* Evidence of professional development and advanced practice.
* Strong drive, determination, and commitment to the role.
Additional Requirements
* Eligible to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or update prior to a formal offer.
