Main Purpose of role
We have are seeking a proactive and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team in our Yorkshire West region. The main base will be from our regional head office in Leeds and due to the nature of the role it will involve some travel throughout the region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of residential construction projects, ensuring cost efficiency and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in the preparation of cost plans, budgets, and tender documents.
2. Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payments.
3. Monitor project costs and provide accurate reporting through CVR process.
4. Administer contracts and manage variations, claims, and final accounts.
5. Support site teams with commercial advice and ensure compliance with company procedures.
6. Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships.
7. Contribute to value engineering and risk management initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
8. Experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry, ideally residential.
9. Strong understanding of JCT and NEC contracts.
10. Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
11. Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
12. Proficiency in cost management software (COINS)
13. Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
14. Working towards or holding professional membership (e.g., RICS or CIOB) is advantageous.

The successful candidate will hold the relevant industry requirements; RICS and a surveying degree or HND.
