Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Drive Innovation in Heavy Industry
Location: Dudley – Two Manufacturing Plants
Day Shift | 40 Hours + Flexibility
Are you an electrically-biased engineer with a passion for proactive problem-solving, continuous improvement, and ensuring plant reliability? Our client is a market leader in high-performance ductile iron and steel castings, seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to maintain and enhance the electrical infrastructure of their two production plants. You’ll be a key part of the engineering team, ensuring operational excellence in a demanding and dynamic environment.
What You’ll Do:
1. Diagnose and resolve faults across heavy manufacturing equipment
2. Install, test, and repair electrical control systems (including 3-phase power and AC/DC)
3. Lead preventative maintenance projects and equipment reliability upgrades
4. Work from PLC/LADDER diagrams and electrical schematics
5. Contribute to plant optimisation, safety culture, and continuous improvement
You’ll Need:
1. Apprentice-trained with City & Guilds Level 3 (17th edition) or equivalent
2. Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, PLCs, and control panels
3. Experience in industrial or heavy manufacturing (foundry preferred)
4. IPAF certified (MEWP)
5. Ability to read circuit and LADDER diagrams
6. Organised, proactive, and safety-first mindset
Desirable Extras:
1. Siemens S7 or CAM programming knowledge
2. Confined space and working at height training
3. Forklift/crane/slinging certification
4. First Aid or Fire Safety training
