Vision for Education, in partnership with Sunderland University, is excited to launch Teachers of Tomorrow, a brand-new pilot scheme designed to help tackle the teacher shortage in core subject areas. What is Teachers of Tomorrow? This innovative 12-week programme provides graduates with a degree in Maths, English, Science, Design & Technology, or Modern Foreign Languages the opportunity to gain real classroom experience while receiving expert mentoring and training. It’s the perfect way to test the waters before committing to a full PGCE! What’s Involved? A fully paid, full-time school placement in a mainstream secondary school attached to a specific department in your subject area. A weekly training session led by a mentor from Sunderland University to develop key teaching skills. The chance to work alongside experienced teachers, gaining hands-on experience in lesson planning, behaviour management, and classroom engagement. 25 places available in our first cohort, with future opportunities based on the success of this pilot. Why Join? Gain invaluable experience before committing to a PGCE. Earn a salary while training. Build strong connections with schools, potentially leading to PGCE placements or future employment. Get exclusive training and mentoring from education experts from Sunderland University. Help make a real difference in education by supporting the next generation of learners. Who Can Apply?
