Board Advisor – Healthcare
Remote (with travel as required)
Monthly board meeting approximately 10–12 per year
We are excited to be working with a large, family-owned healthcare group who are seeking to appoint a Medical Board Advisor to support its continued expansion and professionalisation. Operating across multiple pillars of healthcare, the culture is dynamic, practical, and informal but who value initiative, collaboration, and honest challenge.
The Role
The Group is seeking a clinically experienced or active healthcare senior to join the Board as an independent advisor.
The successful candidate will bring medical, operational, and international insight, helping the Board navigate regulatory, clinical, and strategic challenges as the business grows its healthcare footprint.
This is an advisory role focused on strategic oversight, innovation, and clinical challenge rather than day-to-day management or regulated clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Attend monthly board meetings either remotely or ideally on site in Europe.
* Provide clinical and operational expertise, challenging and advising the leadership team across the Group’s healthcare businesses.
* Offer strategic input on innovation, governance, and healthcare service delivery in both public and private sectors.
* Advise on global healthcare trends and best practices, bringing a fresh, international perspective to the Board.
* Serve as a constructive challenger, helping to balance ambition with clinical integrity and patient outcomes.
* Work collaboratively with a close-knit executive leadership team in a non-corporate, results-driven environment.
The Ideal Candidate
* Clinically qualified with a strong understanding of private or public healthcare regulations either; hospitals, care homes, training centres etc.
* Currently or recently active in healthcare, hands-on, practical, and aware of frontline realities.
* Possesses an international outlook; comfortable challenging established norms and introducing innovative ideas.
* Experienced in healthcare operations, governance, or strategic consultancy.
* Adaptable to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture where informality and authenticity are valued over corporate formality.
* Excellent communicator with the ability to influence and inspire at Board level.
* Ability to travel abroad (Europe) for the monthly board meeting
