Overview
We are seeking a Community Equipment Technician to join the Devon Community Equipment Service Centre. The role involves delivery, installation and collection of community equipment within people’s homes and associated locations such as care homes, hospitals and schools across Devon. Equipment ranges from walking frames and crutches to beds, hoists and pressure care equipment, and minor adaptations such as installation of handrails and grab rails.
Responsibilities
* Deliver, install and collect community equipment in customers' homes and other locations as required.
* Service and repair equipment where needed.
* Load and unload goods, some of which may be heavy.
* Provide excellent customer service and clear communication with customers and colleagues.
* Work as part of a rota (Same Days and OOH) including weekend cover.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Full UK driving licence (minimum 2 years) with no more than 6 points.
* Previous relevant experience preferred; full training provided where needed.
* Basic DIY skills advantageous for adaptations work.
* Ability to load/unload heavy items and handle equipment safely.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Previous van driving experience beneficial.
* This role is working in a regulated activity and may be subject to a standard DBS disclosure.
Hours, Location & Rota
* 45 hours per week, Tue-Sat 08:00-18:30 or Mon-Fri 08:00-18:30 with on-call.
* Same Day and OOH rota involving weekend cover.
