Responsibilities
* Oversee assessments of care needs and develop, implement, evaluate programmes of care for clients with mental health needs.
* Work under overall supervision of Integrated Team Manager/Matron, undertaking duties without direct supervision.
* Actively participate in training and education of learners allocated to Secure Services, encouraging integration between ward teams and community services.
* In liaison with Integrated Matron/Clinical Lead, Service Manager and Director to set objectives, devise ways to implement and monitor care delivery.
* Apply knowledge of relevant legislation such as Mental Health Act, Misuse of Drugs Act, Access to Information Act, Health and Safety at Work Act.
* Inform Matron/Clinical Lead, Service Manager and Director on breaches of nursing professional conduct as required by the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
Key Activities
1. Participate in ward meetings, initiating and discussing new methods/models of care and participating in research or trials within a designated area.
2. Demonstrate excellent leadership skills and ability to delegate duties, address and resolve issues.
3. Offer professional nursing leadership and ensure highest standards of nursing practice are maintained.
