About us
The Commercial and Environmental Protection team sits within the Planning department. We are a small team and take pride in the work we deliver. We deliver an excellent service within our communities and support local business to help them build and thrive.
About you
We are looking for an experienced and qualified officer in our Commercial Environmental Protection team who cover Noise, Air Quality, Contaminated Land, Permitted Processes, Planning Consultations and other public health matters that may arise.
You must hold an EHRB Certificate (or hold CIEH chartered or registered status) or equivalent and you will need to be highly motivated and able to work independently with your own caseload, whilst offering support to technical officers and graduates when needed.
You must be a team player and have a proactive and can-do approach. You should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to use the full remit of legislation in a balanced way. You should have knowledge and experience of EPA and associated legislation and possess the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
You must demonstrate competency, knowledge and expertise in all aspects of Environmental Protection functions with recent experience of working in a Local Authority enforcement role.
