Job Purpose
The Project Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating technical projects across RHC Lifting's service offering, including inspections, planned works, servicing programmes, and breakdown activities. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest technical and compliance standards, while acting as a key link between customers, engineers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
Lead and manage technical projects from initial enquiry through to completion.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate major operational projects for the business from material allocation, resource scheduling and on site delivery coordinating across the business departments of Sales, Fabrication, & Installation teams.
Develop project scopes, timelines, resource plans, and cost controls.
Monitor project progress and performance, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
Manage variations, risks, and issues proactively, implementing corrective actions where required.
Technical & Operational Leadership
Coordinate and support engineering teams on-site and remotely.
Ensure works comply with relevant regulations.
Provide technical oversight to inspections, remedial works, and breakdown response activities.
Act as a stakeholder escalation point for complex issues and customer queries.
Ensure accurate technical documentation, reports, and certification are completed and issued.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary point of contact for customers on assigned projects.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships through clear communication and professional service delivery.
Liaise with internal departments including operations, engineering, H&S, and finance.
Attend site meetings where required and represent RHC Lifting professionally.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all projects are delivered in line with RHC Lifting and WH Scott Group H&S standards.
Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities.
Prepare risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and ensure safe systems of work are followed.
Commercial & Reporting
Support cost control, invoicing accuracy, and project profitability.
Track project performance and report progress to management.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and additional service offerings.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
Proven experience in project management within an engineering, lifting, or industrial services environment.
Strong understanding of lifting equipment, inspections, servicing, and breakdown operations.
Knowledge of relevant regulations such as LOLER and PUWER.
Excellent organisational, planning, and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills with both technical teams and customers.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
Formal project management qualification (PRINCE2, APM, PMP or similar).
Engineering or technical qualification related to lifting equipment or mechanical systems.
Experience working within a service-led, reactive environment.
Previous experience in a group or multi-site organisation.
