The Opportunity
Do you have the potential to lead a team of Project Managers to secure opportunities and oversee a development programme within Hampshire and Berkshire?
What you’ll be doing
The Development Manager role leads on predominantly developer-led opportunities within Hampshire and Berkshire (other areas if required). You will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, acting as an ambassador for Aster and helping us to continue to be a partner of choice. You will maintain a network of contacts and demonstrate an active knowledge of the geography you cover. Being competent with undertaking development appraisals, you will lead on bids for affordable housing schemes and where successful, negotiate these through to de-risked and robust contracts.
You will be responsible for ensuring your team of Project Managers oversee the construction of new homes to deliver good quality affordable homes to the business in line with projected forecasts and budgets. You’ll need to understand the overall programme and the specifics of your team’s work to achieve the results needed to sustain the development programme for your patch.
About you
We are looking for applicants who work in an autonomous way and provide supportive leadership to their team. You’ll need to have strong communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders, alongside strong IT skills and financial acumen.
With a good understanding of all aspects of the development process and the current legislation, you’ll need to be able to identify, manage and mitigate risks and challenges that are typical of the process.
You’ll be working from home, but you’ll be required to travel across our operating area, so you’ll need a full, UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
