Offer description

About us

Akereos Capital is a leading investment banking boutique focused on the Energy Transition and headquartered in London. The firm is active across four pillars: M&A, debt advisory, intermediate capital and Power offtake and trading solutions. Following a series of senior hires in the M&A division and a pipeline of secure mandates with leading sponsors, Akereos Capital is looking to complement the M&A team with mid-level and junior hires.

About the role

The firm is seeking an associate to join the London office and provide support in executing a strong pipeline of sell-side M&A transactions.

The successful candidate will join a team of highly experienced, passionate professionals with extensive transaction track-record in M&A advisory and work closely with debt advisory and intermediate capital teams.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates from leading institutions with 2.5-4 years of experience in M&A advisory with a preference for experience across Sell-Side M&A and focus on infrastructure and energy transition. Candidates with debt advisory, structured credit or buy-side relevant experience will also be considered. The successful candidate will have worked across divestments, acquisitions, debt raises and structured solutions across the UK and Europe.

We expect the candidate to manage a substantial portion of sell side workstreams on existing mandates and to work independently under supervision of a VP / Director. Excellent financial modelling, understanding of key valuation drivers and experience of M&A transaction processes are essential prerequisites for the role and so are the capability to work in lean teams. The role provides a great level of senior exposure within the firm as well as with clients, and the ability to communicate effectively is fundamental. It is essential that the successful candidate has managed and mentored junior analysts in their prior role(s) as they will have to actively contribute to enhancing the capabilities and skillset of the existing pool of analysts.

Experience may have been obtained at a large investment bank, specialised boutique or through a principal investment role. Any additional background in the infrastructure and renewable energy industry that may have been obtained through rating agencies, technical and commercial advisors or others will all be beneficial and considered positively.

Benefits

* Competitive compensation
* Private health insurance
* 25 days annual leave
* Central London Location (St. James/Mayfair)
* UK visa sponsorship may be provided, if required

The role is available immediately. However, consideration will be given to accommodate the timeline of the right candidate.
