An excellent Property Maintenance Personnel / All round Handyman role has just come up for The Kushman Group. We are a small, family run professional landlord based primarily out of Maidstone (about 50% of the properties are here) but we also run properties all around Kent including in Ramsgate, Ashford, Swanley and Bromley. We are a portfolio landlord that renovates, builds, manages and maintains its own properties. The company has been featured in numerous newspapers/magazines and we are recognised as one of the leading professional landlords in Kent.
We operate a small and close knit team of builders, electricians, cleaning staff and customer service people who manage several HMOs, holiday lets and Airbnbs across Kent, all owned by the company. As we have tripled in size since Covid, we are now seeking to create a separate property maintenance team.
We currently "borrow" maintenance engineers from within the builders' team that mainly does heavy refurb and construction work on new sites, but due to the number of properties purchased over the last 3 years, the company is now seeking 1 or 2 personnel as part of a separate and dedicated maintenance team.
This is a truly excellent role for a candidate wishing to join a small but growing company with significant progression and reward in store.
The Directors need a right hand person to deal with all the general maintenance issues that go along with renting HMOs and Airbnbs. The business is set to acquire a number of properties on a monthly basis over the next year. This is a long term and a stable job for the right person as the business is only set to expand further.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
* Dealing with residential homes that are run as HMOs and Airbnbs.
* Co-ordinating and delivering on all planned maintenance and repairs within agreed service levels.
* General boiler & radiator maintenance (we have a gas safe engineer already so no need to know the servicing aspect of boilers - just the troubleshooting aspects if there's a heating or hot water emergency etc.).
* Hanging Curtains, pictures & frames.
* Repairing leaks and plumbing issues - this is the most common type of maintenance work that comes up.
* Lock changing.
* Painting & decorating between tenancies.
* Minor Electrical works like changing defective plug sockets or light fittings etc (we have a qualified electrical engineer on team for any large jobs).
* Flooring - carpets and laminate.
* Plastering if required.
* Tiling.
* Regular Gardening.
* General property maintenance duties.
* Working within the guidelines of health and safety legislation.
* Responding to tenant requests for any repairs or maintenance in a timely manner.
KEY SKILLS REQUIRED:
* Good all-round Handyman person background.
* Excellent fault finding and troubleshooting skills.
* Never say No attitude to servicing tenants and guests who make up our client base.
You would have come from a maintenance environment, like a builder with renovations experience etc - i.e. you are a multi tradesman.
VAN:
* You will need to have your own van - we pay a mileage allowance.
TOOLS:
* You will need your own tools.
