Community Mental health and Memory Services
MHSOP community mental health and memory services in Scarborough Whitby and Ryedale area are provided by two Community Mental Health Teams ., Scarborough CMHT which is based in Cross Lane Hospital and Ryedale CMHT which is based in Princess Road Clinic in Malton.
This is a less than full-time post. The Consultant Psychiatrist will provide input working to a 3.0 Direct clinical care and 1.0 supporting professional activities work programme to the Scarborough Memory services.
The post holder will be expected to provide reciprocal and proportionate Cross Cover responsibilities which will be negotiated with associate medical director at the time of recruitment.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be expected tomaintain good clinical records using Trusts electronic record system and undertake the ordinary administration duties of a consultant post including participation in professional audit, business planning and related activities. It would be essential to comply with Trusts agreed policies and procedures. There are opportunities for professional development in medical management.
All Consultant Psychiatrist are automatically members of the Trust wide Senior Medical Staff Committee (which meets quarterly), the Trust Wide MHSOP senior medical staff committee (which meets bimonthly) and the Locality Senior Medical Staff Committee (which meets monthly).
The Trust provides 10 days study leave per annum, together with expenses to support the continuing professional development of the post holder. The post holder will be expected to fulfil the continued professional development requirements of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and fulfil the GMC requirements for revalidation. The post holder will undertake an annual appraisal with an allocated appraiser and undertake annual job planning with the Lead Psychiatrist and General Manager.
The postholder is expected to have (or be willing to undertake the training required to gain) and maintain Section 12(2) approval status under the Mental Health Act 2007.
