About the Role
The Patient Safety Manager will be a key member of CHEC’s Quality, Risk and Compliance Team, contributing to all aspects of patient safety and incident management to support high-quality, safe care for all service users.
The role involves coordinating and implementing the NHS Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) alongside Regional Heads of Quality Governance, Risk & Patient Safety, the Chief Nurse, and the Chief Medical Officer.
Key Responsibilities
1. Promote a systems approach to incident investigations.
2. Ensure patient safety incidents are recorded in the central database and reported to the Learning from Patient Safety Events (LFPSE).
3. Lead or support patient safety improvement projects, focusing on NHS patient safety strategy and response framework implementation.
4. Develop and deliver educational programmes on patient safety.
5. Collaborate with the Governance Team and Regional Quality Leads to promote patient safety, clinical quality, and governance strategies.
6. Develop and implement patient safety systems, processes, and initiatives aligned with national and organisational needs.
Candidate Requirements
1. Experience with or knowledge of implementing PSIRF.
2. Ability to analyze incidents and data to inform decisions.
3. Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
4. Strong communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
5. Ability to thrive in a busy environment.
