Responsibilities
* Provide health & safety support to departmental managers / heads of department.
* Provide support in relation to health & safety adverse incident investigation, alongside providing independent investigation of their own.
* Provide health & safety training when required.
* Undertake audits in respect of demand.
* Provide Health & Safety related advice and support in line with current regulation, directly to Directorate Managers, Heads of Departments. Provide support to all staff across all of the hospital sites.
* Coordinate specific tasks, including an annual Health & Safety audit of their respective areas.
* Take responsibility for revising and monitoring Health & Safety related training programmes.
* Advise on CTMUHB Policies and Procedures, risk assessments, COSHH, manual handling, PPE, VDU assessments, noise, etc.
* Co‑ordinate COSHH issues for their area, supported by the COSHH Co‑ordinator.
* Attend relevant Directorate meetings, encourage department heads to implement development actions, and devise remedial action plans.
Welsh language skills (Desirable)
This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. While the candidate does not need to have Welsh skills, we will consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. We are looking for Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.
Qualifications and Knowledge
Knowledge of all CTMUHB Policies and Procedures, relevant legislation, national guidance and UHB strategies and policies.
