Interim Senior Accountant- Oxford (Hybrid) | Circa £350-£400 per day | Interim Contract- 6 Months +
We are working with one of Oxfordshire’s most exciting VC-backed start-ups who are seeking an Interim Senior Accountant to join their finance team during a key period of growth and transformation. This is a hands-on role, ideal for a qualified accountant who can quickly add value in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the finance team with month-end close, ensuring accurate and timely delivery
* Preparation and review of management accounts and period-end accounts
* Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances
* Prepare and post accruals, prepayments and journals
* Review Accounts Payable transactions, ensuring accuracy, correct coding and strong controls
* Review and support the preparation of VAT returns, ensuring compliance and timely submission
* Assist with audit preparation, including schedules, reconciliations and responding to audit queries
* Support process improvements and controls during a period of change
* Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and support to senior stakeholders as required
Candidate Requirements
* ACCA / ACA / CIMA qualified/ QBE
* Strong end-to-end management accounting experience
* Proven background in month-end close and balance sheet ownership
* Solid experience reviewing AP transactions and VAT returns
* Advanced Excel skills
* Comfortable working in a fast-moving, change-driven environment
* Available at short notice
