Overview
CAMHS Mental Health Practitioner role at Cheswold Park Hospital.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and skilled CAMHS Mental Health Practitioner to join our Primary Intervention Team within Wakefield CAMHS. This is an opportunity to work in the heart of our Single Point of Access (SPA), playing a key role in triage and the early intervention pathway to help young people and families get the right help, at the right time.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join a supportive and collaborative team. Calls are encouraged. The team is based at Flemming Court, Castleford until December 2025; temporary relocation to Drury Lane Health and Well-Being Centre in Wakefield until September 2026; then move to Fieldhead Hospital from September 2026.
Main duties of the job
* Single Point of Access (SPA): be the first point of contact for children, young people, families and professionals. Take triage calls, make informed clinical decisions, and offer supportive advice and signposting to help navigate the system.
* 2+1 Intervention: deliver brief, targeted support through a 2+1 approach — one initial assessment and two focused intervention sessions.
* Support children, young people and families to obtain the right support and make onward referrals internally within Wakefield CAMHS or to external agencies.
All employees of the Trust are strongly encouraged to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to protect patients.
We are aware that AI is used by applicants to generate responses on NHS Job application forms. We discourage this and will conduct screening.
