Providing housing repairs and maintenance services across a geographically diverse social housing portfolio covering market towns, rural communities and urban locations, the contract includes responsive repairs, planned maintenance and property services, with a strong focus on customer service, quality and community investment. Due to continued growth across the contract, opportunities are available for experienced Senior Planners across South Worcestershire, North Gloucestershire, and surrounding areas. About the Role You’ll play a vital role in ensuring repairs are scheduled efficiently, works are allocated to operatives, and jobs are completed quickly and to a high standard. As the key link between residents, operatives, and colleagues, you will help deliver a customer-focused, responsive repairs service. Role Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of administrators and planners Oversee KPIs and maintain the MCM system Ensure overdue tasks and performance indicators align with group standards Coordinate operatives and subcontractors using MCM to ensure timely, well-equipped job completion Achieve performance targets through efficient resource management Identify and resolve operational issues in collaboration with the workstream manager Monitor workload trends and adjust resources to cover absences and holidays Allocate work to subcontractors and order materials in line with procurement policies Ensure effective use of IT systems, including PDAs and subcontractor portals Provide training and support on system usage where needed Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach in all communications Uphold health and safety standards and company appearance policies Collaborate with all team members to deliver a high-quality service Support company policies and procedures, maintain assets, and cover for absent planners Attend meetings and training sessions as required Key Criteria Line management experience within a planning/administrative environment GCSE (or equivalent) in English & Maths Experience working in a fast-paced, pressurised environment Strong IT skills with the ability to use job management and scheduling systems Excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills A customer-first approach with the ability to handle challenging situations Knowledge of repairs and maintenance processes Experience scheduling and planning multi-trade repairs using an ICT appointing tool Benefits: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Family-friendly policies, including enhanced maternity/paternity leave life assurance Van & Fuel card Refer a friend schemes Generous pension scheme and sick pay Employee Assistance Programme Mears Rewards – access to discounts across major retailers, including supermarkets Excellent training and development opportunities Annual Mears Fun Day (previous locations include Alton Towers and Drayton Manor) Volunteering leave – up to two days per year to support community initiatives All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.
