Kitchen Assistant - Tuesdays & Saturdays We currently have an opportunity for a talented individual who will assist our Ancillary Staff Team as a Kitchen Assistant in our residential care home for the older people in Wantage. Our residential care home, "Framland" in Wantage is a warm and friendly home for older people, caring for up to 21 residents. Observe food hygiene regulations. Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment; tidy communal areas, wash, dry and store all crockery, cutlery and utensils. Maintain the kitchen, catering equipment and food storage rooms in a high state of cleanliness and tidiness. Maintain all records and control stock rotation when on duty. Work as part of a team and be willing to take on any task, within your capabilities, to provide an excellent service to our residents. Attend meetings and training activities as required. In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, you are required to perform other duties assigned by your manager from time to time that are within your capabilities. For more details please take a look at the Job Description About you: You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have an empathy with them; You must enjoy cooking and be able to cook and prepare food to a good standard; and You should have a basic food hygiene certificate and a food-related qualification (this would be an advantage but is not essential). You need to be able to work as part of a team in order to provide an excellent service to our residents; and You need to be a well-organised, practical and adaptable person.
