We are currently looking for an experienced Golf Ops Manager to join our expanding Golf Ops team at SCHLOSS Roxburghe Hotel and Golf Course

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 5 days over 7. You must be available to work weekends.

We offer a competitive salary starting from £34,000 per annum plus gratuities* and excellent employee benefits.

*Gratuities (tips) are an additional charge added onto services and are paid to all employees on a pro-rata basis regardless of your role. The amount is not guaranteed and is depended on service charge paid.

The Golf Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of golf operations including staff management, customer service, inventory management, and coordination of golf events. This role aims to ensure an exceptional golfing experience for members and guests, optimise operational efficiency, and uphold the club's standards of excellence.

Your Key Responsibilities:

* Golf Operations Management:

Oversee the daily operations of the golf operations team, ensuring excellence in customer service and operational efficiency. Regularly review and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) to reflect best practices and operational changes.

* Team Leadership:

Hire, manage, train, and motivate the golf operations team. Develop comprehensive training programs to enhance staff skills in customer service, golf operations, and sales. Ensure all team members are well-versed in the club's policies and procedures.

* Event Coordination:

Plan, organise, and execute golf events, tournaments, and leagues. Ensure events are well-promoted, executed smoothly, and provide a high-quality experience for participants. Manage all logistical aspects, including scheduling, registration, and prize distribution.

* Inventory Management:

Oversee the procurement, inventory, and sales of golf-related merchandise and equipment. Implement strategies to optimise merchandise sales and manage supplier relationships.

* Golf Cart Fleet Management:

Oversee the maintenance, operation, and management of the golf cart fleet. Ensure carts are in excellent condition, safely operated, and adequately stocked with necessary supplies.

* Rental Program Management:

Manage the club's rental program for equipment and clubs, ensuring high-quality options are available for members and guests. Implement strategies to maximise rental revenue while maintaining customer satisfaction.

* Membership Management

Oversee all aspects of membership involvement, including managing annual subscription processes and ensuring a smooth renewal experience. Support the delivery of member tournaments and events, attend committee meetings when required, and act as a key point of contact for members. Serve as the professional and approachable face of the club, fostering positive relationships and ensuring members feel recognised and valued within the resort environment

* Financial Management:

Participate in budget planning and management for the golf operations department. Monitor golf operations related expenses and revenues, making adjustments as necessary to achieve financial targets.

* Reporting and Analysis:

Submit regular reports on golf operations, including but not limited to financial performance, inventory levels, event participation, and customer feedback, to the Head of Golf/General Manager. Use data analytics to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and recommendations for strategic decisions.

* Strategic Planning:

Working closely with the Head of Golf/General Manager, contribute to the strategic planning of the golf operations department, including setting department goals, budgeting, and forecasting. Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue, enhance the golfing experience, and improve operational efficiency.

* Customer Relationship Management:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with members and guests. Implement feedback mechanisms to gather insights and address any concerns promptly to ensure a high level of member and guest satisfaction.

* Marketing and Promotion:

Work closely with the marketing department to promote golf events, memberships, and other golf-related initiatives. Ensure the golf operations are effectively marketed to both current and prospective members and guests.

* Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all golf operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards. Implement risk management practices to minimise liabilities and ensure a safe environment for staff, members, and guests.

Your Knowledge & Capabilities

* Excellent leadership and management skills.
* Strong customer service orientation.
* Proficient in golf operations management, including tournament organisation, course management, and retail operations.
* Solid understanding of the Rules of Golf, world handicapping systems, and golf etiquette.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong service standard skills.
* To be a competent golfer.
* Ability to multitask and mange time effectively.
* Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.

Proven Experience/Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Sports Management, or a related field preferred.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in golf operations management at a golf club or similar environment.
